Hi there!
I'm Peter Eck, an aspiring software engineer interested in all things web
My Journey
In 2014 I graduated from Marquette University with two majors in Marketing and Economics. After working in account management for a handful of years I realized it wasn't for me.
I taught myself Python and SQL so I could better analyze data for the accounts I managed, and so I could eventually move to a data analysis position.
But after a JavaScript course on Udemy I realized building web apps was what I really wanted to do. Seven years later and countless nights and weekends spent learning, I'm still at it and loving it every bit as much.
About Me
I'm a self-taught software engineer with a passion for building web applications. I'm currently working as a Senior Technical Support Analyst at GoHealth.
I'm always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow as a developer. I'm familiar with React (using Typescript!), the Nodejs ecosystem, and I'm currently learning more about the CICD process.
When I'm not coding you can find me watching, playing, or reading about soccer. I'm a huge Real Madrid fan and hope to someday follow the team around Europe for a season. I also love my alma mater Marquette and our Golden Eagles basketball team. I am a voracious reader, a whiskey collector, and a husband and dog dad to a loving pittie/boxer mix named Mila (dog tax below)
